Fresh Food In An Historic Place - Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market
A LeHigh Valley staple, the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market is a year-round hotbed for locally grown produce, packaged items and specialty foods. Since 1955 dozens of vendors have shown up every Thursday through Saturday to turn out a variety of wholesale goods and pre-prepared ethnic dishes from Vietnamese Pho to Amish meats and baked goods.
Expect to breathe in the fresh scent of premium brewed coffee and sweet and savory bakery items while you make your way through the indoor shops. Sample wine, cheeses and olive oil just for the fun of it or pick up handmade and organic gifts. Come hungry to experience the Farmers Market like a local. A variety of restaurants serve up hot dishes or you can stop at the family-owned Allentown favorite, Bada Bingg Deli, for lunch.
